Aleksandar Rakovi\u0107 (Belgrade, Serbia, 1972) received BA, MA and PhD degrees in history at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

He defended his magister's thesis Yugoslav Public and the Irish Revolution 1916-1923 <\/em> on July 10, 2007 at the Department of History (History of Yugoslavia). On January 18, 2011 he defended his doctoral dissertation Rock and Roll in Yugoslavia 1956-1968. A Challenge to a Socialist Society <\/em>, also at the Department of History (History of Yugoslavia).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The 10th International Herceg Novi Book Fair in Montenegro (2012) awarded Rock and Roll in Yugoslavia 1956-1968 <\/em> with Book of the Year Award.<\/p>\n

He is elected Friend of the President of the Republic of Indonesia for 2013.<\/p>\n

The National Archives of Indonesia awarded him in 2015 for \"outstanding contribution at the commitment of protection, preservation, research and publication of diplomatic relation archives\" published in the books Yugoslavia - Indonesia 1945-1967 <\/em>, in Serbian and English languages.<\/p>\n

On 9th of July 2021 he was awarded by Tesla Global Forum with White Dove Award in Matica srpska in Novi Sad for major contribution to Serbian culture.<\/p>\n

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of its founding, the Red Star Football Club awarded a plaque to the Rakovi\u0107 family from Belgrade on April 4, 2025, for 80 years of loyalty and 70 years of membership in the Red Star Football Club. The plaque recipients are: Ilija Rakovi\u0107 (1927\u20132008), Prof. Dr Dejan Rakovi\u0107 (1951), Dr Aleksandar Rakovi\u0107 (1972) and Ilija Rakovi\u0107 (2017).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    In the period 2001 \u2013 2003, he was an adviser in the Federal Ministry of Religion and the Federal Secretariat of Religion. From February 2005 to January 2008 he was the Head of the Information and Documentation Centre of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology in Belgrade. From February 2008 to September 2008 he was the Assistant Director of the National Archives of Serbia. Since September 2008 to February 2012 he has been the Senior Adviser at the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Serbia. On behalf of the Republic of Serbia he submitted five papers and spoke at four annual meetings of the OSCE on human rights and religious freedom: in Warsaw (2009 and 2011) and Vienna (2010 and 2011).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

He is a member of the Commission for Museum and Archives of the Red Star Belgrade Football Club. He is married to Jovana. He is a father of two children, daughter Tamara and son Ilija.
